Music is his elixir of life, diversified and multi-faceted his career: From child prodigy to classical pianist, conductor, opera producer, he went on to manage Viennas largest dance-hall. Dealing with different styles had a great impact on his deep understanding of music and its interpretation.

At the age of 20 Matthias Fletzberger won top prizes at international piano competitions, including the “Busoni” (Bolzano 1984 - Silver Medal), “Rubin­stein” (Tel Aviv 1986 - Gold Medal), and “Bösendorfer” (Vienna 1988 - First Prize) competitions.  As a result, his career took him to all continents: as recitalist, as soloist with major orchestras (Israel Philharmonic, Orquestra National d’Espagna, etc.), collaborating with conductors like Ferdinand Leitner, Carl Melles, Jesus Lopez Cobos, and as chamber music pianist and accomnist of renowned singers.

 

The pianist Matthias Fletzberger took a time-out of 15 years. During this time he succeeded in the completely different field as an eventmanager. This long distance to classical music-life gave him a new approach to music.

Since  2009 Matthias Fletzberger started his comeback as a classical pianist with solo-recitals and as chambermusic-partner of the renowed austrian/russian violinist Lidia Baich, as well as a conductor.
