
Matthias Fletzberger impresses as conductor and host at the gala concert with the Mongolian Philharmonic Orchestra
On May 23rd, a very special anniversary was celebrated at the Ulaanbaatar Philharmonic: 200 years of Johann Strauss. To mark the occasion, a festive gala concert was held, dedicated to the works of the Strauss dynasty. Under the direction of Matthias Fletzberger, the Mongolian Philharmonic Orchestra presented a diverse program of waltzes, polkas, and overtures by Johann and Josef Strauss.
Matthias Fletzberger not only took over the conducting but also charmingly hosted the evening, providing the audience with interesting background information on the individual works and the era of the Strauss family. The atmospheric ambiance and the musical excellence of the orchestra and its conductor were enthusiastically received by the audience.
To conclude the concert, the audience gave a standing ovation, expressing their special appreciation for this exceptional musical event. Following the concert, the orchestra management extended an invitation to Matthias Fletzberger to collaborate on future concerts in Mongolia – another important step towards deepening the musical cooperation between Austria and Mongolia.
